Shell access is available for all regular user accounts. It enables you to access your account via command line, upload content to your webspace and perform other high-level tasks.

  1. Go to and login using your duckid credentials
  2. Click on the link “Manage optional account access”
  3. Click on the button “Enable shell access”
  4. When you see the message “Access to a campus shell account has been granted” you are finished.

Note that if you just want to upload or download files in your account (such as content in your web pages), you can use SFTP access to without having to enable shell access.
